Polartec to make its Première Vision debut

The company said the trade show was a “major opportunity” to champion what it called ‘tech casual’.
“Changes brought about by consumer behaviour have led to Polartec taking a fresh approach to product development,” Gary Smith, Polartec’s CEO, explained. “Millennials in particular have an expectation from technology which no other generation has ever had.”
He added that Polartec is faced with the challenge of building the technology the consumer expects into the next generations of its fabrics, while also retaining the fashion component. “Today’s consumer wants performance apparel that doesn’t look like performance apparel,” he said.
