Vibram takes its resoling tour to Outdoor Retailer

06/11/2018
Sole and shoemaker Vibram has announced that it will be resoling shoes on the tradeshow floor at the forthcoming Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Denver, US (November 8-11).

This service is offered as part of its Sole Factor Mobile Lab initiative.

“We are excited to bring Vibram’s Sole Factor and team of cobblers inside the Denver Convention Center for the first time,” said Allon Cohne, Vibram’s chief marketing officer. “Anyone at the show can customise their shoes and experience Vibram’s latest innovations in rubber compound and sole technology, sometimes before a sole is available anywhere else.”

Vibram will offer its newest rubber technology, Litebase, in Denver. It will launch in the products of a number of brand partners in spring 2019. The company has said Litebase is designed for “ultralight performance”. It is said to cut the sole weight by up to 30%, without compromising on grip and durability.

Vibram’s Megagrip sole will also be a resoling option for visitors to the exhibition.

Master cobbler Gino Conti has said: “If the tread is totally worn down, or it’s never been quite as grippy on wet surfaces as you’d like, we can upgrade those shoes to perform like new - or better.”

The Sole Factor Tour raises money for the Conservation Alliance at Outdoor Retailer. Vibram suggests a donation of $25 per pair.
