Research and testing body the Hohenstein Institute is among the latest companies to sign up as contributors to the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Foundation.

It joins the group as a value chain affiliate in the ‘Solution Provider’ category.

Announcing its decision to pledge its support to the ZDHC programme, the company said: “Hohenstein is proud to be joining over 20 leading brands working together to drive industry-wide change in responsible chemical management, and commits to working on this task in a collaborative and open manner.”

Hohenstein is one of five new contributors that ZDHC announced on December 14. UK-based retailer Next and Tchibo, a retailer that operates in Central and Eastern Europe, have both joined as signatory brands. Italian leather tanning association the Associazione Conciatori and German multi-stakeholder group the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles have joined as associates.
