ZDHC teams up with Asian dyestuff association

The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) programme has announced that the Asia Dyestuff Industry Federation (ADIF) has joined as a contributor.

This new relationship was agreed at the recent China InterDye exhibition (April 10-12), at which ZDHC and ADIF held a joint information event. The China Dyestuff Industry Association (CDIA) also took part.

ZDHC has said the event marked the start of a collaboration which is expected to “significantly accelerate” the uptake of sustainable chemical management in Asia. ADIF represents dyestuff associations and manufacturers in the region, which accounts for 80% of global dyestuff production.

A key aim of this partnership will be to create a standardised way of managing input chemistry in the textile and leather sectors there. It also aims to highlight the importance of having harmonised tools and implementation approaches to sustainable chemical management across supply chains. In addition, the two organisations will share knowledge and showcase best practices from Asian dyestuff producers.
