EOCA celebrates more fundraising success

26/07/2019
The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) has said that it, with the help of its members, raised nearly €40,000 during the recent OutDoor by ISPO exhibition in Munich (June 30-July 3).

This money was raised through donations to its Conservation Fundraiser. A number of EOCA members donated items such as packs, hammocks, footwear and mugs. Several brands also held fundraising events on their own exhibition stands.

The funding raised will be spent on conservation projects, with some earmarked for a project related to EOCA’s ‘Plastic Free: Mountain to Sea’ initiative and some to be spent on a project sponsored by footwear brand Keen.

In addition, EOCA also announced that five new members have joined the organisation since the exhibition. They are ECCO, Skinourishment, Leadership & Sustainability Karin Ekberg, Mund Socks and Gumbies. It brings the number of new members so far in 2019 to 18.

Making these announcements, EOCA’s joint general manager Tanya Bascombe said: “There is enormous momentum growing around EOCA at the moment. With the fundraising, the huge growth in members this year and the excitement surrounding the Plastic Pledge, the organisation’s reach has really stepped up a gear. It is thanks to the huge support of our members and the industry working together that we are able to do this.”
