Team Korea’s ‘K-Eco-Tech’ Olympic uniforms ready for Tokyo

Following on from South Korea’s Youngone Corporation, the exclusive distributor of outdoor brand The North Face in Korea, officially extending its partnership with the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and Team Korea last month, the Seoul-based company recently unveiled the national team’s official 2021 Summer Olympics uniforms.

During an event hosted by the Olympic committee at Jincheon National Training Center in the country’s centrally located North Chungcheong province, the North Face-branded uniforms were revealed to be a blend of function and eco-friendliness.

Notably, The North Face’s “K-Eco-Tech” material, a continuation of previous K-Eco collections, has been used for the first time. The “innovative” eco-friendly tech - or technology - was supplied by Youngone, local media said, using both recycled nylon and recycled polyester.

A Youngone spokesperson commented: “Team Korea athletes will once again experience official uniforms that incorporate the unique knowhow and technological innovation we have accumulated. Youngone will continue to provide high-level support to the athletes, so that they can maintain their optimal condition and feel a sense of pride in representing South Korea.”
