The North Face launches ‘K-Eco’ line in South Korea
Following on from last month’s announcement, local media have reported that The North Face, South Korea has launched its “K-Eco” capsule collection of 16 styles of clothing and accessories, created using at least 100 tonnes of transparent PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles collected on Korea’s southern Jeju Island.
Jackets, anoraks, hoodies, sweatshirts, short-sleeved t-shirts and accessories such as “eco” bags and bucket hats have all been included in the collection. Some pieces feature the graphic of a character picking up waste plastic bottles (pictured).
The brand said that it will continue to maintain the “eco-friendly” values it exhibited with the “eco fleece” line it launched on the Korean Peninsula last year.
“The North Face will be reborn [in Korea] as a leading brand that practices sustainable fashion by making sincere efforts to implement eco-friendly practices in all possible areas, such as product development, production, packaging and marketing,” a spokesperson commented.
