Moncler group reached new heights in 2021
Luxury outerwear group Moncler, headquartered in Milan, has released its full-year revenues for 2021, revealing an increase of 42% over fiscal 2020 and growth of 28% on 2019, pre-pandemic.

Total revenues generated reached roughly €2.05 billion or around $2.3 billion. The figures posted include data on Moncler-owned brand Stone Island from April 1 to December 31, following Moncler’s acquisition of the Italian apparel firm on March 31 of last year

Viewed as separate entities, the Moncler and Stone Island companies grew 27% and 35%, respectively, year on year. The former was boosted 14% versus 2019 figures, whereas the latter was up 26% on 2019 figures.

Asia drove 49.1% of the Moncler brand’s sales in 2021, with the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) region taking a share of 34.2% and the Americas representing 16.7% of its revenue.

Chairman and chief executive at the group, Remo Ruffini, commented that he was “particularly proud” that Moncler had exceeded €2 billion in revenues with over €400 million (just under $450 million) in net profit, especially considering the global covid-19 context.

“The start of 2022 has been marked by considerable uncertainty, particularly on the geopolitical front, which adds to the complexity of the current economic and global health context, but also with important positive indicators which give me confidence for the future of our group,” Mr Ruffini added. “In 2022, we will celebrate 70 years of Moncler and 40 years of Stone Island and we stand ready to turn these moments into unique opportunities to celebrate our history while strengthening our brands as pioneers of new luxury.”
