Chinese supplier launches tussah silk ski line
Chinese apparel manufacturer Fengcheng Ruiwo’Er Garment, located in the city of Fengcheng in the country’s north-eastern Liaoning province, has designed and developed its own line of “high-end” ski suits under the brand name River, local media have reported.
Beyond the use of unspecified “lightweight, wear-resistant, tear-resistant and high-tech fabrics”, the range is differentiated by the company’s use of natural tussah silk for the articles’ lining and filler.
The business opted for tussah silk for its “lighter, warmer, breathable and skin-friendly” properties, it said.
Each article reportedly went through over 170 stages of production and, according to reports from within China, the garments are already “popular among skiers”.
Fengcheng Ruiwo’Er Garment has been actively involved in the local snow sports scene for several years now, having previously sponsored an alpine-style skiing competition in Shenyang in 2019 alongside local government and sports industry bodies.
