Moncler expands into outdoor footwear

Textile technologies from Cordura and Gore-Tex add to the range’s technical credentials, as does use of Vibram’s high-performance rubber sole compound Megagrip, a TecTuff rubber rand and flexible carbon-fibre plates. Incorporation of OrthoLite’s Sockliner technology underfoot enhances the wearer’s comfort, while a heel clip adds stability.
Across the collection, a unifying design feature is the ruggedness of the sole, which Moncler said was inspired by maximum-traction mountain bike tyres. Boudin stitching, more commonly seen in the brand’s quilted jackets, is similarly present throughout.
The line debuts with low-top leather sneaker the Trailgrip GTX, to be followed by a high version later this year. Meanwhile, the Trailgrip Après and Trailgrip Après High offer a more toughened up take on the alpine snowboot.
