Jack Wolfskin puts weight behind PrimaLoft’s Insulation Rise
German outdoor brand Jack Wolfskin has incorporated materials developer PrimaLoft’s Insulation Rise down alternative in the design of more than 30 different products from its current autumn-winter range, the insulation maker has revealed.
A synthetic substitute for natural down, Insulation Rise is made up of at least 80% post-consumer recycled content. The fibres which form the material are stacked vertically to produce a compression-resistant effect with bounce. This provides durable insulation suited to a variety of weights and thicknesses, the company says. Jack Wolfskin hence included the insulation in various articles, from parkas to technical jackets.
“Due to the unique construction of PrimaLoft Rise, we can use the insulation in multiple categories throughout the Jack Wolfskin collection, from ski touring to hiking and modern lifestyle products,” the brand’s vice-president of product and apparel, Daniele Grasso, explained.
First introduced to the market in 2020, close to 50 brands have built Insulation Rise into their autumn-winter 2022 collections. These include Lululemon, Helly Hansen, adidas Terrex, Ripzone and Yeezy Gap.
