As the urban techwear trend appears to be making a comeback, specialty chemicals company Rudolf has asked Dutch menswear designer Jonathan Christopher to create a capsule collection that highlights the special textile effects it has developed. These were presented at Performance Days last month.

“Chemistry is the invisible agent, or guardian, that offers protection from rain, from stains or from UVs or enhances a product’s performance in moisture management or hygiene,” Alexander Hanel, corporate brand and marketing manager, told WSA. The collection, called Molécouture, demonstrates the many possibilities of the company’s wide eco-responsible product range. “It also offers a possible vision of a future slow fashion, as our solutions can help make products last longer,” he added, in reference to the easy care finishes or antipilling solutions that Rudolf offers.

This it the second time that Jonathan Christopher has made a collection for Rudolf, after a first collaboration presented at ITMA in Milan, in 2023. “With Molécouture, we are not just creating clothing; we are pioneering a new era where fashion meets functionality,” the designer said.
