Texnascis: Selenis launches new T2T fibre brand
Polyester polymer specialist Selenis has announced the launch of Texnascis, a new brand for its recycled polyester made from textile waste. The company, which is part of Portuguese specialty PET producer IMG Group, began research into the recycling of textile waste in 2022.

Selenis had previously formed several partnerships with innovators in T2T recycling. In late 2024, it has announced a collaboration with Syre to establish a textile-to-textile production line at its Cedar Creek facility in North Carolina. Selenis has been an early member of Circ’s fibre group supply chain partners, and announced this past June that it would be applying Circ’s polycotton T2T recycling technology at two facilities, its headquarters in Portoalegre, Portugal, and at the San Giorgio di Nogaro plant in Italy.

Selenis is also part of Life Politex, an EU-funded T2T working group, led by Spanish textile research centre Aitex. Running from 2024 to 2027, it aims to establish an industrial pilot plant for fibre-to-fibre recycling.
