Nike launches compression wear with footballers in mind

Nike has launched a compression garment 18 months in the making and which is being marketed towards football players in the lead up to the World Cup.

The Nike Pro Combat Recovery Hypertight is designed to be worn during active recovery - while the body is moving, but not engaged in intense exercise. The graduated compression targets specific zones of the leg, aiding recovery and reducing swelling, according to the US sportswear brand.

"Our research led us to conclude that graduated compression can help impact recovery,” said Nike Innovation design director Eddy Harber.

Recovery Hypertight was tested by athletes including footballer Zlatan Ibrahimvoc and basketball player LeBron James.
