Aquafil's Econyl technologies earn a sustainability award
09/12/2014
The jury said: "The company has introduced new processes and technologies across the value chain and built new partnerships with partners to close fibre circuits and to improve resource efficiency.”
The Econyl Reclaiming Program is a global network constructed in 2011 to establish fibre waste collection points. Pre-consumer waste and post-consumer waste (fishing nets, carpets) can be used in the regeneration process.
The award is endorsed by the German Federal Government, local and business associations as well as NGOs such as UNESCO and UNICEF. The awards are presented to cities, companies and individuals promoting the idea of a sustainable society.
