Cambodia raises minimum wage

Cambodia has agreed to raise its minimum wage to $140 a month from $128 from next year.

Representatives of the government, factories and unions, voted for an increase to $135 but government then raised it to $140.

It is estimated 600,000 work in the apparel and footwear factories, a $5 billion a year sector.

Vietnam's exports to the US will be tariff-free once a Trans-Pacific Partnership comes into effect and unions are worried brands will be tempted to relocate manufacturing there.
