European Outdoor Group welcomes first supply-chain members
The European Outdoor Group (EOG) has welcomed its first “technology brand” members since widening its entry criteria: W.L. Gore & Associates, Pertex and PrimaLoft.
Founded in 2003 by 19 outdoor companies, the EOG now has 86 brand, retail and technology brand members, plus 10 associate members.
In 2014, the EOG started accepting retail members, under the same terms as brands.
EOG said as a result, the association has grown significantly, and been better positioned to represent the sector and undertake projects on behalf of its members and the industry.
Mark Held, EOG general secretary, said: “When the EOG moved to welcome retail members, we did so because we recognised that there was no longer any logic in drawing artificial lines between brand and retail in our industry. That same argument clearly applies to technology brands as all businesses operating in our sector are dealing with the same overarching issues and challenges and we can collectively achieve so much more through appropriate collaboration.”
“EOG members recognise this and commit to actively supporting our objectives and the work that we do, so that together we can build a sustainable and successful sector for the benefit of all. We are delighted to welcome GORE, Pertex and PrimaLoft as our first tech brand members and anticipate that our membership will continue to grow in the near future.”
