Moncler makes strong start to 2017

After breaking the €1 billion sales barrier in 2016, ski brand Moncler continued its momentum with strong sales growth during the first quarter of 2017.

Consolidated revenue for the three months was €276.2 million, 16% higher than in the same period of 2016. Retail revenue increased 20% to €203.9 million, while wholesale revenue was 7% higher at €72.3 million. 

The majority of Moncler’s revenue in the first quarter came from international markets. Overseas sales were recorded as €237 million, 18% higher year-on-year. 

The brand saw especially strong sales growth in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, describing the performance of the UK, France and Germany in particular as “outstanding”. Overall, sales in the region were 26% higher than in 2016. 

In Moncler’s domestic market of Italy, revenue rose 7% year-on-year.
