Moncler seeks to attract younger consumers

In November, the brand revealed it would bring an end to its two ready-to-wear catwalk clothing lines, Gamme Bleu and Gamme Rouge, and would part ways with its design team.
This new project, which it is calling Moncler Genius, will see it cut the time between the design of new products and them appearing in stores. This speedier strategy is designed to appeal to younger consumers.
The eight designers who will take part in the project include: Valentino creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli; former Gucci menswear designer Sandro Mandrino; and Moncler’s own creative director, Francesco Ragazzi.
The project will officially launch on February 20 at Milan Fashion Week, with a new collection from one of its designer partners released each month from then on. They will be available one at a time, starting from June.
