Vollebak creates jumpers from landfill-bound uniforms
UK outdoor brand Vollebak has made a range of jumpers from old bulletproof vests and firefighter suits that were heading to landfill.

These clothes are made with aramid fibres that “can stop fire, heat and bullets” so they have a long lifespan.

The company said: “We decided to take these fibres and start work on turning them into other things, like sweaters, rather than let them rot in a pile for our great-great grandchildren to deal with.”

The clothing – which is made in a limited quantity and expected to sell out - is described as warm, soft and fire-resistant, with the inside and outside like a rugged fleece.
