Yarn Expo fully booked with almost 450 exhibitors
Organisers of trade fair Yarn Expo have revealed that the show's spring edition will be at maximum capacity, with just under 450 exhibitors taking part, when doors open in Shanghai on March 28.
The three-day event will be held at the city’s National Exhibition and Convention Center, running concurrently with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, China International Fashion Fair (CHIC), knitting show PH Value and Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles.
Jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt Hong Kong and China’s Sub-Council of Textile Industry, Yarn Expo will occupy hall 8.2, where it will host exhibitors from as far afield as the US, Switzerland and Turkey, alongside those hailing from elsewhere in Asia, including Vietnam, Singapore, India and Pakistan. Dedicated zones will be given over to cashmere, wool, linen, cotton, chemical fibre, fancy and “oversees” yarns, plus more, organisers said.
Notably, China-based manufacturer Sateri will showcase recycled cellulose fibre Finex, blended from pre- and post-consumer textile waste and certified wood pulp, in addition to its EcoCosy brand of viscose. Cotton Council International, meanwhile, will present its US Cotton Trust Protocol traceability initiative. Another local producer, Jiangsu Yueda Cotton Spinning, will display organic, recycled, ring-spun and vortex-spun cotton yarns, as well as functional yarns containing biodegradable polyester, Eastman-made cellulosic fibre Naia and polylactic acid.
The fair’s fringe programme will include a China Chemical Fibers Association trend zone, complete with roughly 30 different types of fibres from 32 select suppliers, discussions on new fibres, smart textiles and carbon-zero materials, a denim fashion event and a show organised by domestic fibre manufacturer Tongkun Group.
