Europe’s premium swimwear fabrics on show at MarediModa

Textile companies manufacturing for the beachwear, lingerie and athleisure sectors are joined by accessories producers, design studios and some cut-and-sew providers.
Claudio Taiana, president of MarediModa, said: "When, 21 years ago, we decided to protect our fair with an entry specification to protect traceability many called us utopian, but today we can say that that choice has protected both our brand and the work of the companies that come here to present their collections. Those who come to Cannes know that they will find only the premium segment of our industry.”
A trend presentation by textile consultant David Shah highlighted five themes for summer 2025 fashions: exuberant, conscious, at ease, magical and transformed. "Just like the entire textile supply chain, the beachwear, underwear and athleisure sectors have adopted an ethical, circular and responsible approach,” he said. “The technology available today enables tremendous progress on the sustainability front as well as on fabric construction.”
The MarediModa Creative Excellence Awards have been presented to Colombian group Leonisa and US brand Sauvage. Mr Taiana said: “Once again this year we have selected two brands that have contributed to making very different styles that are appreciated in every corner of the planet. Two brands that believe, like us, in product ethics and supply chain traceability so much so that they have always been our guests.”
Finalists of the Link Awards – a competition aimed at fashion and design students – attended the show and presented their collections on the second night of the fair. The winners were named as Monika Luczak from Poland (underwear), Iulia Anton from Romania (athleisure) and Laurine Achoui from France (beachwear).
