Members pledge rebirth of World Sports Forum
After many years of inactivity, the World Sports Forum (WSF) association convened a meeting to reactivate the organisation, where it announced a new committee and a new home in Lausanne, Switzerland.
“The WSF seeks to become fully operational and to provide an arena for all stakeholders of sports and sports-related communities again,” said Robbert de Kock, WSF secretary and secretary general of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI).
The World Sports Forum is an independent association managed by the WFSGI since 1997.
WFSGI president Frank Dassler was elected as new WSF president for a year and succeeds Stephen Rubin, chairman and co-owner of Pentland Group.
Robbert de Kock will become the secretary, replacing André Gorgemans.
The new composed committee consists of the WFSGI board and WFSGI past president Michel Perraudin: Tom Cove, president of the Sports & Fitness Industry Association; Martin Künzi, CFO of Intersport International; John Larsen, non-executive director of New Balance; Motoi Oyama, president of ASICS; from Michel Perraudin, MP Consulting; Andy Rubin, of CEO Pentland Group; Jochen Schäfer, WFSGI legal counsel; Jeroen Snijders-Blok, COO of Accell Group; and Klaus Uhl of Uhl Consulting.
The forum’s cashier will be Martin Künzi, CFO of Intersport International; while Mr Rubin has been named honorary president and Mr Gorgemans will be honorary director.
