Adidas’ Speedfactory project will no doubt be one of the topics of discussion when its CEO, Herbert Hainer, and global creative director James Carnes join the bill of speakers at the upcoming World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) forum, The Future of Manufacturing.

The WFSGI supports the sporting goods industry worldwide and has organised the conference after the success of the first Manufacturers Forum held last December in Taiwan.

Taking place in Leipzig, Germany, on November 13-14, other speakers include Leanne Fremar, creative director of Under Armour; Steven Shih, a director at footwear manufacturer Yue Yuen; Pier Paolo Righi, CEO of Karl Lagerfeld; and Oliver Blume, a board member at Porsche.

“Many sectors have worked hard to better integrate their design and manufacturing activities, resulting in better, cheaper and faster-to-market products,” said a spokesperson for WFSGI. “Drawing from automotive, aerospace, food, electronics, furniture and other sectors, we will discuss the most critical factors in ensuring that manufacturing and design can embrace successfully.”

Companies confirmed to attend include Amer Sports, asics, Nike, Pentland Brands, Puma, Odlo and Vaude.

Registration is available on the WFSGI website.
