VF Corp to double investment in South America
Leonardo Furno, director of supply chain strategy at Timberland and North Face owner VF Corp, has unveiled plans to double the group’s $350 million South American business.
He was speaking at the 30th IAF World Fashion Convention in Medellin, Colombia, which took place from October 29 to October 1.
However, he admitted it is difficult to structure the business in a continent where in Chile, 90% of apparel is imported and in Brazil and Argentina, 90% must be made locally as a result of high tariff barriers.
