Increase in Italian machinery exports

Total orders increased 16% year-on-year during the period from July to September. This was led by a 20% increase in overseas sales. The news from Italy’s domestic market was less positive, with sales down 14%.
“This data on orders confirms the significant vitality in foreign markets,” said Raffaella Carabelli, ACIMIT president.
“We’re still far from an effective recovery for the domestic market,” she cautioned. “However, we’re confident that the plan put forward by the Italian Government for 2017 fiscal year can give confidence to businesses who need to invest.”
