The Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) has partnered with Outdoor Retailer to host what it is calling a Public Lands Action Centre at the forthcoming Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, US (July 26-29).

Outdoor Retailer has donated a space in the south foyer of the Salt Palace Convention Centre for the area, where visitors will be able to find information about live advocacy action and education on the public lands and water issues facing the outdoor industry.

“The Public Lands Action Centre gives show attendees the opportunity to actively engage in important public lands discussions taking place across the country and to learn more about recreational topics that impact them personally and professionally,” said Marisa Nicholson, Outdoor Retailer show director.

The zone will also feature daily presentations about themes like water issues, public lands and, climate policy and equity.

“Our goal is to have hundreds of industry professionals stop by the Public Lands Action Centre to learn about relevant recreation issues and programmes relating to land, water and climate across the country,” explained Jessica Wahl, government affairs manager for OIA.
