ZDHC to accept bluesign standard for chemical conformance

The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) group has announced that the ‘bluefinder’ chemical product catalogue operated by bluesign technologies will be recognised as an accepted certification standard for conformation to its Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL).

The online application carries the details of more than 10,000 chemical products. Bluesign has described it as “the world’s first and most comprehensive positive list of chemical formulations”.

The ‘bluefinder’ can be used by chemical suppliers to indicate Level 3 conformance to the ZDHC MRSL on the ZDHC Gateway Chemical Module. 

"We are delighted to have bluesign join us as a ZDHC Accepted Certifier for MRSL Conformance, which marks the first step of a collaboration to accelerate momentum in the industry towards forefront chemical management solutions and scalable innovations," said Frank Michel, executive director of the ZDHC Foundation.
