EOG to have new general secretary in 2019

25/06/2018
The European Outdoor Group (EOG) has announced that its general secretary, Mark Held, has extended his contract for a further year but will step down in summer 2019.

This information was revealed by EOG president John Jansen during a press conference at the Outdoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen last week.

Mr Held announced his intention to step down from his role back in June 2017. He took over as EOG general secretary in 2005, two years after co-founding the organisation with Rolf Schmid.

The EOG advertised for his replacement in November 2017. Mr Jansen confirmed a replacement has been found, but that the person in question is not yet available due to current contractual commitments. As a result, Mr Held has agreed to stay for another year in order to ensure a “stable transition”.
