Canada Goose teams up with the NBA
Toronto-based outerwear brand Canada Goose announced a multi-year partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA) in early March.
Under the agreement, Canada Goose will create capsule collections timed around the NBA’s annual midseason All-Star game, Bloomberg said.
Starting this year, the brand has collaborated with luxury Los Angeles-based streetwear maker Rhude on a four-piece, unisex collection that includes a vest and a trench coat.
Rhude’s creative director, Rhuigi Villaseñor, described his brand’s partnership with Canada Goose as a “no-brainer”, owing to the “science” and technical problem-solving exhibited by the latter company, which Mr Villaseñor described as “the best in outerwear” in an interview with the Canadian brand on its website.
The capsule, available now in the US and Canada, offers further material representation of Canada Goose’s expansion into lighter, not-just-for-winter clothing.
