H&M to release plant-dyed, recyclable capsule
Swedish apparel company H&M has prioritised recyclable mono-materials and plant dyes for its third Edition menswear collection, available March 10, the retailer announced recently.

The 26-piece utilitarian offering, comprising 23 articles of clothing and three accessories, ranges from a 100% recycled nylon cagoule jacket to overshirts and jerseys constructed from organic and recycled cotton.

Notably, its colour palette has been achieved via an unspecified “pioneering technique” which harnesses plant extracts, natural clay, bio-resins and natural enzymes to achieve its hues without the need for harsh chemicals, according to the brand.

Head of menswear design at the Stockholm-headquartered firm, Ross Lydon, described how including natural and plant-based dyeing techniques was “key” to the collection’s conceptualisation, which he said was also rooted in seeking out ways to “challenge and innovate” within the sustainability field.
