Tangshan Sanyou to offer 100% Circulose fibres first

Circulose dissolving pulp is made solely from cotton-rich textile waste like old denim jeans and can be used in manmade cellulosic fibres (MMCFs) such as viscose, lyocell and more.
Announcing the news on the final day of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics (Intertextile Apparel), Renewcell chief executive, Patrik Lundström, told how Tangshan Sanyou had been the first in the world to produce Circulose-based fibres commercially, as well as “the first to commit to sourcing significant [pulp] volumes”.
“I applaud Tangshan Sanyou’s vision and support for scaling next-gen raw materials like Circulose,” he continued.
Before embarking on making commercial-quantity 100% Circulose fibres for “selected fashion brands and manufacturers”, the China-based viscose producer will fulfil orders for 50% Circulose content fibres, Renewcell said. Both partners will collaborate on marketing the Circulose ingredient brand around the world, it added.
Executive vice-general manager at Tanshan Sanyou, Zhang Dongbin, noted that “protecting the global ecological environment by applying sustainable solutions” is a goal his team shares with Renewcell. Mr Zhang additionally called the pulpmaker’s impact on sustainable fashion thus far “huge”.
Renewcell notably signed a letter of intent with lyocell manufacturer China Textile Academy Green Fibre, also at the Intertextile Apparel trade show, earlier in March.
