Hyosung FDC looks forward to spring-summer 2025
South Korean fibre manufacturer Hyosung expects well-being of both self and planet to inspire spring-summer 2025's consumer-driven textile trends, according to research from its Fashion Design Center (FDC) teams in the US, Europe and Asia.
FDC's overarching trend for the season is Regenerative Life, which it divides into three themes: Active Essentials, covering “not-so basic basics”, “next-level comfort”, “vacation-bound” and “all-ready active” for fashion-forward, functional and yet “eco-friendly” sports attire; an all-weather Great Escape outdoor collection, including sub-trends “nature gym”, “protective basic”, “everywhere layers” and “bleisure travel” (part business and part leisure); plus Wellness Strategy for comfy loungewear and intimates, split into “travel-ready essentials”, “comfort everyday”, “feel-good texture” and “new femininity”.
Team and general manager at the FDC, Gary Oh, commented: “For spring-summer 2025, we predict textile trends focusing on materials that allow consumers to feel the best they can be, both physically and emotionally.
"It’s such an exciting time for textile innovation and our team finds great joy in providing creative solutions that align with our global partner network’s needs.”
The producer will therefore recommend its creora bio-based elastane, granted “eco-product” status by SGS last July, alongside performance nylon and polyester yarns at trade shows this summer, it said.
In the coming months, Hyosung plans to exhibit at Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City (June 19-21), London’s Future Fabrics Expo (June 26-28), Interfilière Paris (July 2-4), Functional Fabric Fair NY (July 18-19), Preview in Seoul (August 23-25) and Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics (August 28-30).
