A subsidiary of Chinese sports group Anta has entered into an agreement to purchase a 75.13% controlling interest in Shanghai-based women’s athletic clothing brand Maia Active, well-known domestically for its yoga apparel.

The company primarily focuses on creating styles that better accommodate what it calls an “Asian fit”, so tailored to support a wide range of female body shapes. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

On top of the Anta and Fila brand portfolios, the group is also majority owner of Amer Sports (which counts Arc’teryx, Salomon, Wilson and Peak Performance among its brands), has a 50% stake in Kolon Sport and manages Descente in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.
