Lenzing-Södra project singled out by ITMF in Keqiao
Attendees of this year’s International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) conference in Keqiao, Shaoxing, saw Austrian fibre producer Lenzing and Swedish pulpmaker Södra take home the International Cooperation award for their joint textile recycling initiative, first announced in 2021.

The project received a €10 million grant from the European Union back in June. ITMF typically divides its prize-giving into two categories: International Cooperation, plus Sustainability and Innovation.

“The unique, cross-border and long-term cooperation between Lenzing and Södra is a true role model for the circular-economy transition in the textile industry,” ITMF director-general, Christian Schindler, shared from the Chinese city. “A goal that can only be reached by extensive cooperation among the value chain actors.”
