Alliance of Chemical Textile Recycling takes shape

29/09/2023

US textile-to-textile recycling non-profit Accelerating Circularity has published a dictionary of common textile chemical recycling terms to coincide with the launch of its Alliance of Chemical Textile Recycling working group.

Joined by founding members and fibre manufacturers Lenzing, Eastman and The Lycra Company, the objective is to cascade collective learnings as a coherent and authoritative voice.

The core idea is to “move chemical recycling technology forward, share common definitions and address policies in a collaborative way, to maximise the elimination of textile waste to landfills and incineration”, said Accelerating Circularity's founding president, Karla Magruder.

Others to sign up so far include Renewcell, Worn Again Technologies, Infinited Fiber Company, Circ, OnceMore from Södra, Sappi, CuRe Technology and Gr3n.
