Down supplier Allied Feather + Down, clothing manufacturer Active Apparel Group (AAG) and outdoor brand Templa have created a 99%+ biodegradable down puffy jacket.

Made with biodegradable 800 fill power down insulation combined with biodegradable synthetic fabrics and trims, the jacket is designed to disappear when placed in an anaerobic environment for approximately five years.

The jacket has won an ISPO award in the category ‘Future Now: Designing to Disappear – The Biodegradable Project’.

Other suppliers include Solvay for biodegradable yarn Amni Soul Eco, and CiCLO, whose technology allows synthetic yarns to become biodegradable.
