Milano Unica expands international scope
The 41st edition of textile trade fair Milano Unica closed its doors yesterday on a positive note. Organisers said that the event recorded a 10% hike in international visitors. Countries that stood out include buyers from the Netherlands (+46%), Germany (+33%), the United States (+16%), France (+14%) and Japan (+9.5%).

On the exhibitor side, non-Italian companies made up 45% of the suppliers on show, with a significant rise in European mills (nearly +9%) making the total exhibitor count for this edition stand at 735.

The latest data from fashion industry body Confindustria Moda indicate that the first quarter of 2025 was both “encouraging and challenging” following the difficulties of 2024. Last year, sales of made-in-Italy textiles dropped nearly 9% to €7 billion, with exports down as well (-11% at €3.8 billion).
