The maker of Lycra, Thermolite and Coolmax branded fibres is preparing to showcase its latest developments at Performance Days, held in Munich on October 29 and 30. Aligned with the textile-to-textile focus of the show, The Lycra Company’s Coolmax EcoMade and Thermolite EcoMade are available in versions made from recycled polyester textiles or PET plastics.

The company continues to promote its new bio-derived Lycra EcoMade which is now available on a commercial scale. Certified by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), and backed by ISCC, an independent LCA found that its carbon footprint can be 44% lower than that of conventional Lycra yarns.

Performance-oriented stretch fibres, such as Lycra Adaptiv, which adapts its elasticity to need, and Lycra T400 EcoMade, a bicomponent stretch yarn that offers high breathability and is derived from recycled and renewable resources, will also be on show at the company’s booth.

“We are returning to Performance Days with a clear mission: performance can no longer be disconnected from sustainability. Our bio-derived fibre is a drop-in solution designed to support our partners’ efforts to create more responsible collections without sacrificing the comfort and fit that consumers expect,” commented Nicolas Banyols, head of sales for The Lycra Company.
