New Zealand-based merino company Icebreaker has hired Black Diamond’s former vice-president of sales as general manager for the US, overseeing wholesale, retail and ecommerce sales.

Brian Mecham also spent many years in North American wholesale sales for Patagonia.

”Brian is a highly motivated strategist with a deep understanding of the outdoor industry and a proven ability to motivate and inspire his team,” says Rob Fyfe, Icebreaker’s CEO. “His passion for rock climbing and love of skiing resorts and in the backcountry demonstrates that adventures in nature are his lifeblood making him the perfect fit for Icebreaker.”

Brian will be based at Icebreaker’s US headquarters in Portland, Oregon.
