New Balance partners with Pensole Academy

The Pensole Master Class will take place in January 2017 at New Balance’s Research Design Centre in Massachusetts, US. The partners will select 20 of the best aspiring designers from around the world, who will undergo an immersive programme to introduce them to the art of footwear design.
“This is our inaugural engagement with New Balance and we’re very excited to partner with the company’s design team,” said D’Wayne Edwards (pictured), founder of Pensole. “As with all Pensole programmes, this is not a typical academic setting. At the end of the three weeks these students will have a different outlook on design, themselves and New Balance.”
New Balance will provide scholarships to the 20 students selected to cover the costs of tuition and housing during the programme. They will work on the development of projects specifically for New Balance. The best students will have the opportunity to apply for a one-year apprenticeship at the New Balance Design Foundry.
