Nike and Adidas line up to speak at Taiwan conference
Representatives from Nike, Adidas and Far Eastern New Century Corporation (FENC) have been named among speakers at a seminar on textile trade, to be held during the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS) in Taiwan in October.
The ICAC International Seminar 2015, organised by the International Cotton Advisory Council and the Taiwan Textile Federation, will be held on October 20 and will focus on ‘The Development of Textile & Apparel Industry under the Regional Economic Integration’.
Julia Hughes, president of the United States Fashion Industry Association, will be the keynote speaker and will share her perspective of the regional economic integration on worldwide manufacturing and trade in the textile and apparel industry.
Other speakers will include Dhyana van der Pols, head of textile innovation and manufacturing at the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFGSI); Dr Andy Chen, director of regional sustainable manufacturing chemistry at Nike Sustainable MFG Excellence; Molly Claiborne-Iskorkutan, director of sourcing apparel and materials at Adidas Sourcing; and Nobu Ogata, head of the technology and development department at Teijin Frontier Co.
The conference will also feature panel discussions on how the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) will affect the industry, featuring speakers from PVH and Americas Apparel Producer’s Network.
