Testing and certification body SGS has become the latest organisation to join the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) programme, which aims to eliminate the use of hazardous chemicals from the textile and footwear value chain.

The ZDHC programme has already announced eight new contributors in October, including polymer developer Covestro and the Sustainable Apparel Coalition.

“The power of the collaboration is proving itself,” said ZDHC Executive Director, Frank Michel. “We’re delighted to welcome SGS who will bring in their expertise and experience to collaborate with over 40 contributors already committed to ZDHC."
